Horse Racing Stag Party

There aren’t many stag weekend activities that give you the chance to make back the money you’ve spent; we say that when one comes around, grab it with both hands. And when there’s just such a chance that also provides you and the lads with entertainment, exhilaration, and a spectacle of sporting excellence? The craic on Horse Racing

Fantastic racing, great entertainment, incredible views (on Ladies Day, anyway)… if only the odds were as good as the rest of horse racing. Whether you win big or lose it all, a day at the races is still one of the most exciting ways to spend a stag do. Over £150 million was bet on the Grand National alone last year, not even considering all the other races throughout the year – clearly, it’s a sport that a lot of lads enjoy. It’s also something that they can all take part in. You can bet as big or small as you want, and it can be enjoyed and watched regardless of athletic ability or age.

  • SEASONAL – Yes, national hunt runs from October-April, flat racing runs from March-November.
  • THRILL FACTOR – High – it's not losing the cash but losing face in front of your mates that's the worry. says: "Horse racing is available all over the world, but the best is often found across England and Ireland. From the Grand National to Chelthenham to the Epsom Derby to Ascot to the Curragh, we can get you and the boys to some of the highlights of the racing calendar."

A Little More

Racetracks have a special atmosphere and are a great relaxing way to get ready for a big night and might win them a little extra money for a few drinks. The races are exciting, the gambling is exhilarating, and the beer is usually pretty good too – whether you’re going for flat or jump racing the odds are much better for guaranteeing a great day out than bagging a winner.

The Format

  • You and the lads arrive at the racecourse, giving yourselves enough time to grab a drink before the race starts.
  • Find your seats or a good place to see the race from, place a few bets and settle down to watch the action unfold.
  • The rest takes care of itself – you cheer, you sob, you tear up your ticket in fury or celebrate by getting in the first round later.
